Here’s an easy tip that I tell my clients: two days a week spend an hour writing one thoughtful and cogent article that’s relevant to your target readership. Imagine you’re going to be having it picked up and published in one of the key trade publications in your marketplace. Good grammar, good spelling, coherent sentences, and a valuable point or insight are all important. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but I promise you, the better you write, the more your potential customers, clients, partners and investors will be impressed.

The other three days of the week? Spend the same amount of time and effort each of these other days, but this time find other blogs that are in your market space and add thoughtful comments to their discussions. Sometimes, when appropriate, link back to your own articles, but other times add your own comments just to participate in the ongoing discussion and, yes, gain some visibility in your marketspace.

Over time you’ll gain a reputation as a credible expert and people will start checking out your blog to see what you have to say. Then you’ll have gained traffic and visibility in your market segment, which is where it’s most important anyway.

website traffic?

Posted by: admin   in website traffic

I’ve started an online anime Magazine and was wondering if there was a way to increase traffic, its not quite finished yet…Also any feedback would be apreciated but remember..its not finished..

This is it http:// www.animelovers.50megs.com
If you want to send fanart in please handwrite your name on the image and email it to this address with some details about yourself. i.e; Name, Age and Location

animelovers@hotmail.co.uk

Postal Submissions will be acepted the address is on the website

Just visited your site http://www.animelovers.50megs.com and I think it has potential also I checked your coding and noticed a few thing especially in your keywords, you have some keywords that are related to your site but some of your keywords are to vague (like DVD , reviews) you can use keywords that are more specific to your site (go to a search engine and do a search on DVD or review etc. and you will notice that there are millions of competitors for those keywords..As most site depend on search engine traffic, you will get more traffic and less competition, if you use more specific keywords…Also some tricks to promote your site are join forums, groups that are related to anime and leave comments or question with your URL (web address) as part of your signature, do the same thing for emails etc..Just don’t spam your site..For more detailed info, visit the link that I will provide

I’ve tried manual and autosurf traffic exchanges, blogs, forums, classifieds, networking sites, chat rooms, just about every free option i can think of. Have i missed anything?

You can try to promote at this website. It’s free

Check out the free and paid ways of promotion / advertisement: http://www.webtoolhub.com/article-a20-what-is-search-engine-marketing-sem.aspx

i tried yahoo… nope tried google… nope nothing works but address search….
(i promise this is not a solicitating thing), but can some try to go through this by yahoo search http:// longway2thetop.bravehost.com. thank you.

Put Page description & keywords tags on your pages . Go for link exchange.. with other related sites.

Sure, basically any idea that works for "brick & mortar" businesses. Marketing is marketing. The only difference (which really isn’t one when you think about it) is do you have what the customer/visitor wants? That’s how search engines narrow it down & how it goes outside the virtual world.

Think about how you end up at sites or "brick & mortar" businesses. What caught your eye? I can think of a great campaign on a expressway a few yrs ago for a poetry site on a giant billboard. Millions stuck in traffic saw that sign. While I bet it cost buko bucks, I bet it paid out in the end for the owner. I live in a pretty big city next to a rather large lake with tons of windy politicians.

So your not rich in $$$. I bet you can think of ways to get the word out for whatever you are doing. Write an article, get on your local tv station (if you can figure out a good reason for your 15 min of fame), donate stuff/time/info to local charities/schools/libraries ect… The idea is to get your name out there in the community you are trying to reach. Try hooking up with compatible partners. That way you can share prospective visitors. I have no idea what your site is about so my answer is limited, but I’m sure you get the idea & can think of ways to get your site out there.

I’d suggest you visit your local library (big fan of free books) & wander through the marketing section.

Good luck!

How can I increase traffic to my website?

Posted by: admin   in traffic to website

Ive had my website for about 1 year. I get about 8000 to 12,000 hits a month. Its a fair amount, but I would really like to get at least 50,000 hits a month. Ive tried advertizements, link exchanges, keywords to get on top of search engines, flyers, and even newspaper adds. Is there another type of advertizement you know I can use to get more hits. My Chat room website is http://www.superdoopz.com

Try advertising on ad networks like Google AdWords, Snoork Ads, AdBrite, BidVertiser, and many more.

You will definitely get lots of traffic.

My website offers online traffic school. What is the best way to drive U.S. traffic to my site. I am all over the PPC sellers already…and i rank high in the search engine results.

Is it better to buy banners? Or should i buy into large directories….or just have a large link exchange program?

and dont say all of the above please!

Hi, good question…

There’s a whole lot of things you can do actually.

I would try article marketing if you’re interested in that. If you decide to go that way, you can download a free guide about how you can use article marketing to bring traffic to your site here:

http://photomarketeers.com/cool-resources/digital-photography-tips-free-guide-shows-you-how-to-bring-in-more-traffic/

The other thing I use is http://hurleypix.com/3wl This costs a monthly fee - but it works very effectively at giving you very nice rankings in Google. Look over the site if you want to learn more. :)

Another option is by using web 2.0 sites such as Digg, Twitter, FaceBook, Craigs List, Stumbleupon, etc. You have to get ‘in there’ and communicate and learn about these sites, build your profile up, etc, but they are pretty good too at motivating people to come look at your websites.

There’s other ways as well including press releases and contributing in forums often.

Hope that helps. :)

I am a small co in philadelphia, trying to get some exposure, I have google adwords, but need more traffic to the site to gain more expsure and potentially more jobs.

In am in agreement with another forum member who believes the use of Flash was unfortunately at this time, since the majority of your audience are home-based Net subscribers still using dial-up telephone services. These are not necessarily people who are patient enough for the slow downloading of your Flash images to completion. Perhaps a redesign of your webpages is in order to eliminate needless Flash images and maintain the HTML integrity of this site, if at all possible.

In the meantime, here’s a step-by-step review of your current website, beginning with your opening webpage along with suggested improvements.

A. <title>THE HUNK OF JUNK</title>

Improvements: Understandably, the Title is your domain name. However, it needs more specific direction and where’s the location of your business site? The Title must be site specific. Here’s an improved Title:

<title>Junk Construction Yard Residential Commercial Hauling Removal - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania</title>

B. <META NAME="description" CONTENT="The Hunk of Junk, we haul away just about anything">

Improvements: Don’t use a reference to a domain name within a Description. Here’s an improved Description:

<META NAME="description" CONTENT="We provide junk removal for homes, businesses, offices, real estate agencies and contractors">

C. <META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="junk hauling, junk removal, junk services, trash services, garbage, hauling, junk, appliance removal, furniture removal">

Improvements: Do not load duplicate entries. Here’s an improved KEYWORDS:

<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="junk, trash, garbage, appliance, furniture, hauling, removal, services">

Hopefully, you can incorporated the above-referenced improvements into your webpages — in a timely fashion. And as a consequence, your website will attract increased numbers of web visitors and enjoy a stable income.

Good luck!
