Website Traffic, how to get some?

Posted by: admin   in traffic to your website

Whats the best way to get traffic on your website?

The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is
to first set up a website and publish its domain name
on major search directories such as Google.com,
Yahoo.com [at http://www.google.com/addurl/?...... and
MSN.com since 85% of Internet shoppers rely on these
search directories to provide them with goods and
services. In a sense, these search directories are a
very large Internet Yellow Pages.

Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage
fail to contain "generic" keywords, then anyone using
such "generic" queries will not be able to discover
your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website,
in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.

You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,
when observed and committed in designing of a website
with placement of various critical metatags that can
surely achieve a high search engine presence and
increase Internet traffic to your website. These
metatag strategies work well with published webpages
at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based
website, make sure to fill-in the property entries
such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing
to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can
be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the
Internet audience and their incoming setup. For
example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages
take too long to load up and therefore analog users
will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the
Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL
lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So
before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple
question, "Who’s my end user - is he on dialup or
DSL?" And if you had to choose between these two users
for maximum marketability, then select analog users
since 80% of most resident users are still analog
Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages
is best for them.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,
is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit
the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a
graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots
are unable to properly classify textual material.

Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic
terms, the goods and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the "Description" which is
usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one’s goods and services.

And the very last category - "Keywords" are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
"Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
directory.

Good luck!

I’m researching the internet on how to get more visitors to my website and also make a sale. In addition to that, I would also like to know how to run or set my website on autopilot.I’m offering $10.00 (PayPal or Alertpay) to any one with a great solution, idea(s), and recommended advice.Best answers wins!

Autopilot? What are you selling? If it’s an ebook or electronic file then you can definitely do it. You’ll need to work at getting traffic which is the main part of internet marketing. It can be done for free but it takes time. Keeping a blog updated regularly is huge, plus participating in forums, twitter, myspace, facebook, writing articles, etc. Some of everything.
But then you simply have PayPal buttons on your site that automatically send people to your download page after purchase. If it’s ebooks or electronic files there’s a guide for this called How to Make, Market and Sell Ebooks - All for FREE.

Im not talking about anything to do with search results or backlinks. Im talking about people searching for your website in google and people going directly to your .com domain. What do you guys do? Press Releases? Videos? Etc

In today’s time theres no other better way to pull traffic than Social Networking and Social Media websites. You just need to share information, add like minded people, participate, and communicate. Try to connect everyday.

Does anyone here know this steps. i want to start it with my site. please do help me. thanks

Content, content and more content! The more you write, the more you attract search engines and visitors. Make sure to choose keywords carefully and sprinkle throughout your pages without overdoing it.

Submit 2-3 articles per week to the top article directories, Hubpages and Squidoo including your wesite url in the author’s resource box. Add your website url to all signature blocks that you use including email and forums. Then make daily posts in niche forums, Twitter, MySpace and Facebook. Use a service like Directory Maximizer to get your website listed in directories.

If you consistently follow these steps, you will see your traffic build month after month.

I have a myspace site with a picture that links to a retail site. Is there a way that I can count how many people click to go to the website?

You could use Google analytics, to count the visitors clicking through in conjunction with a ‘jump page’

1) setup a ‘jump page’ like countingpage.html
2) change the link destination so that it goes to the jump page
3) set a Refresh meta tag in the header section of the jump page like this (note the value of 1 = 1 second = time delay to refresh / jump to the destination URL)

<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="1;URL=this is the destination website or webpage">

4) make sure that you change: this is the destination website or webpage

………to the destination URL of the original link

Using Google analytics you can setup analytics to track the page = countingpage.html

I have a website(Actually About 3)that i’ve been wanting to have more people come to them. The tools i use to create the website Require money,in-order to drive more traffic,i have to pay! Does anyone know a free way? Ty If You Anwser.

The best way to drive free traffic to your website is through search engine optimized articles/content. SEO articles bring you organic traffic or free traffic. You can learn SEO and write the articles yourself and post them to your blog, and promote them. Or you can hire a SEO writer to write your articles for you, which would cost you some cash, but properly optimized articles can drive massive amounts of traffic to your website for years

Yes but you need to educate yourself and it takes time.

This seems a fairly basic question.

I would suggest an internet marketing guide fron planet ocean and possibly (my favourite option) a 1-on-1 mentoring program.

A mentor would guide you step by step to help you building your business online.

Good luck!

I’m starting an amazon affiliated website that sells electronics, what are the best paid and free ways to advertise? What has worked for you in the past? Can you please list them, and i would like as many free ideas as possible to get started.

For Free Traffic:

1. Open an ezinearticles.com account (it is free). Write and publish articles about your market on a regular basis. Ezinearticles com gets a lot of traffic and the article pages rank good in the search engines. Be sure to put a link to you site in the author resource box but not in the article itself.

2. Bookmark/list/link-to your site at as many of the popular places you can find: Digg, StimpleUpon, delicious.com, diigo.com, facebook, twitter, etc

3. Submit your site to 50 - 100 free directories. You probably don’t want to do this yourself as it takes a long time. Use a service that does it manually. I like Directory Maximizer. For about $7 bucks they will do 50 or so. The Yahoo Directory is good and carries a lot of weight in the search engines but it may be too expensive to start with.

4. Participate in forums with a link to your site in your forum signature.

5. Make good comments on blogs about your market where you can enter your website.

6. If your site has a page that answers a specific question here at yahoo answers, answer the question with your site as the source.

Be sure to participate with good relevant information and not spam.
All of this will add up to search engine rankings and traffic.

Good Luck
