Search engines are no longer the only big traffic source. Social marketing is the way to go if you’re thinking of other strategies that can give you massive traffic.

Here is a blog post about it. Search a bit about social marketing tools.

Good luck!

Blog & Ping works exceptionally well — especially in niche markets. Sometimes, you don’t need to do anything other than write keyword-targeted content with a good, unique & keyword-focused title.

You could also do a small-scale article-marketing campaign. Write an article and submit it to one or two article directories with links back to your website. Again, if you cater to a niche market, you may see traffic with limited off-page tactics.

I’ve included a couple of resources below which may help you:

1) How to get your blogger blog indexed quickly, but it’s applicable to any blog or website, really.
2) SEO article directory list — there are some directories that approve instantly, and are highly popular. However, this list is tested — all of these directories have resulted in more backlinks, and traffic, for my websites.
3) Wordpress SEO tips - use this when writing a blog post, and it can help you to receive more, and better targeted, traffic from search engines.

Congrats, though, on realizing the pointlessness of submitting your website to search engines. That tactic is no longer applicable, and while it might get your website noticed in a few weeks or months… that won’t bring you any traffic whatsoever.
